Amboseli – The Ellie Park

The one great thing of visiting Kenya for your African safari is the diversity of the parks, conservancies and reserves. I would like to imagine there is a park for each person. Amboseli National Park is one of those parks in Kenya where you get a 3 in one safari, you get your normal big five view, thousands of elephants and the magnificent views of Mt Kilimanjaro.

When it comes to a safari, it is a win or loose game there people who get there and in 30 minutes they have seen all you can see while on the other hand there some that spend 3 nights and don’t see any cool stuff like the cats. Besides the lovely thousands of elephants we saw we got to see some lions, buffaloes, impalas, giraffes, zebras etc which just made this safari super exciting.

We stayed at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge for 2 nights so as to give us ample time with the ellies.

The lodge is located on a pretty good spot that gives you your great time just viewing the park.

Though we were unlucky and only got a sneak peak of the mountain996847_10152903887540456_845898258_n (1)It was still nice seating and just day dreaming.SAM_2315I was really lucky to go with a guide who knew the park really well and didn’t have to rely on other drivers to direct him on where the animals were. SAM_2742So I have to put this out there, I have done quite a share of safaris in the last 3 – 4 years and have never seen a leopard or cheetah upclose .. SAM_2752shame huh.. this trip changed on those 2 counts. Bingo cheetah crossed out. Not only did I get to seen one but 2 and got them on the same shot. SAM_2760I was more than ecstatic to say the least. Nothing brings out your joy than a nice sundowner where you have  a nice drink, great sunsets and nice mixes of color.
