Berlin, How was I gonna skip this?

This year has started better than any year could. Having spend my New Year with Sascha, her family and friends was the way to say Hello 2015. It only got better, on 2nd January Jo literally commanded me to go to Berlin and I am generally a very obedient person so I am here now.order

Its been 5 years since we hang out with Johana before Amsterdam and so far its been amazing.IMG_1604

IMG_1632Berlin stared with the most delicious cheese cake from Five Elephant Coffee & Cake and I can say it’s for sure the best Cheese cake I have ever had. After our lovely breakfast  the day started off with some retail therapy and explorations of the Berlin Wall, Brunderburger Tor, Berliner Fernsehturm. The Berlin Wall may have a dark past but the color and murals as shown here put a better perception to it.

Being in Berlin this time brought a very different feel to all my travels. My norm is travel make new ones and hopefully see them some day. one of my evenings here was splendid as I got to hand out with old/new friends, Imma my great friend from Kenya who I had missed while I was in Koln and Jen a sisiter to another fiend from home. Having lunches and pre-drinks and catching up just like home gave Berlin a very home away from home feel.

When I had enough of the homey cosy feel, I was back to what I do best and so the sightseeing started again and  with Jo in tow we stormed Berlin attractions with high spirits.Jo is one of those friends who you can never get bored of, we walked the streets laughing, jumping and posing like we owned the streets. We started off  with the Berliner Dom and Reichstag building.

Berlin will be my second last stop as I need to me heading to South America. Its unfortunate most of Berlins attractions have such sad history behind them, we did go to the Holocaust and when you think of all the Jews killed there its sad but glad its all in the past. IMG_1944 IMG_1943
